NL- Petroplus to consider listing
Carlyle-owned Petroplus is reportedly considering a flotation that could see the oil company valued at around £500m.
Press reports suggest that the oil company, which specialises in refining, storage and marketing, is currently in the process of appointing advisers for the flotation. The question whether this flotation would be realised on the LSE or elsewhere in Europe remains as yet unanswered.
Petroplus was listed on Euronext Amsterdam from 14 July 1998 until 20 April 2005, when the two founders of Petroplus and the Carlyle Group successfully delisted the company for EUR 278m by way of a public offer on all outstanding shares. In connection with the delisting Petroplus was converted from a public company into a private company with limited liability, in which The Carlyle Group has a majority stake.
