Tikehau poaches Axa PE's Mayer-Levi in private debt push

Tikehau Group has hired Cécile Mayer-Levi and Patrick Marshall to join its Paris and London branches respectively.
Mayer-Levi joins the investment firm following an eight-year stint at Axa Private Equity, where she launched and developed the GP's private debt activity. Prior to her time at Axa PE, Mayer-Levi worked for Mezzanis, the mezzanine fund of Credit Lyonnais Private Equity, from 2001. She started her career in the corporate finance and M&A departments at Merrill Lynch's Paris and New York branches.
Marshall has worked as a partner at WCAS Fraser Sullivan Investment Management since 2011. He was previously at Lehman Brothers, since 2000, and was appointed a managing director and the head of the loan portfolio for EMEA at the firm in 2009. Marshall began his career at PwC in London in 1995, followed by Société Générale and NM Rothschild & Sons.
Tikehau acquired a 35% stake in London-based private equity firm Duke Street at the end of June. The transaction was executed in an effort to boost Duke Street's deal-by-deal model and the GP planned on using the fresh capital to launch a new, European mid-market-focused fund.
