
MVision spinout launches Asante

A new private equity placement group has been formed by Warren Hibbert, a former partner at global fundraising specialist MVision, unquote" has learnt.
Asante will have a broad mandate covering the full spectrum of private equity funds in both developed and emerging markets, but with a clearly defined and limited group of clients.
The team should have a handful of closes in 2011. Asante was launched recently by Hibbert, with other executives believed to be involved, including Fraser Van Rensburg. Both Hibbert and Van Rensburg were previously Partners at global fundraising specialist MVision, where they managed a significant number of the firm's clients' fundraisings.
Hibbert would not comment on specifics concerning the new group, but said "The impact of the events of the past few years on the private equity market have underlined the essence of the GP-LP relationship and we believe that understanding changing investor dynamics around the world and relating that to a strong conviction we have in our clients' businesses has never been more important. We're very passionate about what we're trying to achieve for our clients and we're looking forward to some exciting years ahead for Asante."
