
UK - Carlyle interested in Filtronic
Carlyle Group has announced that it is looking into a possible acquisition of listed electronics group Filtronic Plc.
Filtronic's shares forged ahead by 19% to 75.25 pence following the announcement, giving the company a market value of £55.9m. Filtronic has also recently disposed of several divisions, which generated £114m in cash. The remaining divisions include some of the defense operations and the Point to Point division, which focuses on transceiver modules and filers for backhaul microwave radions linking mobile base stations. The company reported net income of £874,000 on sales of £27.2m in the six months to November 2007.
