NETHERLANDS - PE interested in Essent
Market rumour suggests that private equity firms such as CVC and KKR have shown interest in acquiring Dutch waste management company Essent Waste, which has been put up for sale by its parent company.
The competitive process which has not yet started is being led by ING and Credit Suisse. Estimates put the enterprise value above the EUR 1bn mark; close to 6.7x EBITDA.
The waste management segment, although not particularly glamorous, has proven to be reliable and the sale of Essent could serve as a barometer for the infrastructure sector.
