Coller Capital loses senior partner Johansen
Ashley Johansen, a New York-based fundraising partner at Coller Capital, has left the firm just a week after CEO Tim Jones unexpectedly stepped down from his role.
Johansen had started her career at Coller in September 2005; she then left the company in October 2012 to join Alpinvest Partners before returning to Coller in October 2013. According to a source close to the situation, Johansen's exit was motivated by the company's decision not to fundraise for some time following the close of its latest fund. Johansen was not available to confirm this at the time of publication.
Her most recent work was bringing Coller's seventh fund to a final close on $7.15bn in December 2015. The vehicle pursues the same strategy as its predecessor, CIP VI, targeting secondary transactions globally. The GP will invest in assets in the $1m-1bn bracket.
Coller International Partners VIII raised capital from approximately 170 LPs from 27 countries. Pension plans account for 62% of the fund's committed capital; sovereign wealth funds provided 15% of overall commitments and insurance companies accounted for 11%.
