
UK - Abingworth appoints John Heard as general counsel
Abingworth, the life sciences investment group, has announced the appointment of John Heard as general counsel. Heard will be based at the company’s headquarters in London. He joins Abingworth from Intel Capital, the venture capital investment arm of Intel Corporation, where he was European legal counsel for the past six years. In this role, Heard completed more than 60 venture capital financings and exits for technology start-up companies across Europe and in the US. Prior to this, Mr Heard was an Associate at the international financial law practise, Hughes Hubbard & Reed, based in Washington DC and subsequently in Paris.
