Anson replaces Morelli as EVCA chairman
George Anson, managing director of Harbourvest, is to take over from Vincenzo Morelli as the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association's (EVCA) latest chairman.
Anson will be taking over from current EVCA chairman Morelli as of June 2013. He was elected back in July 2012, along with three other new appointments. At that time, Joey Mason of Delta Partners was named EVCA's treasurer, while Simon Witney of SJ Berwin was appointed as chairman of the tax and legal committee and Patricia Volhard of P&P Pöllath & Partners was named vice-chairwoman.
Anson heads up HarbourVest Partners (UK), which supports HarbourVest's European operations. He joined the firm's London subsidiary in 1990. Anson also sits on the boards of funds managed by BC Partners, Cinven and IK Investment Partners.
Anson is a member of the BCVA limited partner committee as well as a member of the EVCA's LP platform council, and sits on the association's board of directors.
