ROMANIA – Enterprise Investors in EUR 66m MBI of Profi Rom
Enterprise Investors has led the EUR 66m buy-in of Romanian supermarket chain Profi Rom Food Group. The deal sees the house wholly acquire the business from former owner Duna Waiting Participation, and install Gunter Grieb as new CEO.
Profi Rom was founded in 2000 and has grown into one of Romania's largest supermarket chains, now operating 65 stores in 47 cities across the country. Revenues stood at RON 440m (EUR 150m) last year, and are expected to reach RON 600m this year, a 40% increase. The buy-in includes the businesses Profi Rom, Albinuta Shops and DT Logistic.
Christian Nacu and Sebastian Krol worked on the deal for Enterprise. Grieb joins from Kaufland Romania.
PricewaterhouseCoopers was the vendor's lead adviser, while Radu Taracila Padurari Retevoescu worked with Allen & Overy on legals. Enterprise was advised by Ernst & Young and Schoenherr si Asociatii.
