ITALY - Bridgepoint acquires perfumeries

The newco created to carry out the transaction will be controlled by Bridgepoint and Salvatore Pilloni, who will remain as managing director. Financing for the transaction was provided by the Banca Popolare Emilia Romagna.

The businesses have a network of 50 outlets and reported a turnover of EUR 40m in 2007. Bridgepoint is already present in the fragrance sector through Limoni which has a turnover of EUR 360m.

Bridgepoint is also one of the shortlisted bidders in the acquisition of La Gardenia, a perfume maker currently owned by L-Capital and Ergon Capital.
