Hg sells Trados for $60m
HgCapital has announced the sale of Trados Incorporated, the global market leader in globalisation software to the translator and corporate enterprise market to SDL Plc.
Lisa Stone, director of HgCapital said: “We have worked with the management team at Trados to achieve an enviable market position as the leading global supplier of localisation software based on leading edge technology and a strong blue chip customer base. We are pleased that we are now able to achieve a strong exit for clients.”

SDL is one of the world’s leading localisation services provider and will be able to drive the development of Trados more quickly than we can alone. This acquisition will provide benefits for customers and staff as well as providing shareholders with an attractive exit opportunity.”
