UK - 3i thought to be amongst bidders for United Utilities distribution arm
3i is thought to be one of a handful of private equity firms considering a bid for the electricity distribution arm of United Utilities. United Utilities has appointed Deutsche Bank to conduct the sale of the business formerly known as Norweb which serves customers in the North West of England. It is anticipated that the deal could fetch up to £1.2bn at auction.
