CEE - Candover enters Eastern Europe
Buyout heavyweight Candover has reportedly launched a subsidiary to take advantage of the opportunities in New Europe.
Candover is just one of the many buyout houses to enter the region recently. Just last week, IK Investment Partners closed its first deal there when it bought Polish rail freight buffer maker Axtone SA from Advent International. Other buyout houses to have indicated a real focus on the region include Bridgepoint, 3i, Carlyle Group and CVC. Many others continue to fly in on a deal-by-deal basis.
Candover is expected to announce within days a EUR 3bn first close of its EUR 5bn fund.
