EUROPE - Private equity to take the stand

The Commons Treasury Select Committee in the UK has summoned five of Europe т€™s biggest private equity chiefs to attend a meeting on 20 June, which as been called a sort of т€˜public hearingт€™ in a report in todayт€™s Financial Times. The industry chiefs invited are Damon Buffini of Permira ; Philip Yea of 3i; David Blitzer of Blackstone Group; Dominic Murphy of KKR and Robert Easton of Carlyle Group. The FT report predicts that some of the Committeeт€™s 14 members are likely to ask pressing questions about the accountability and role of the asset in todayт€™s market.
