BELGIUM- Big Bang Ventures holds first close
Big Bang Ventures has announced that it has held a first closing of its second fund, Big Bang Ventures II, at EUR 17.3m.
Participatiemaatschappij Vlaanderen, Trustcapital and a mix of family offices, IT industry captains and Big Bang Ventures' management itself have so far invested in the fund, which has a target of EUR 30-40m and expects to hold a second close in the second quarter of 2006. Big Bang Ventures II will focus primarily on investment opportunities in early stage companies in information, semiconductor and communication technology in the Benelux region , as well as in Northern France and Germany. It will invest between EUR 2-3m in approximately 12 to 15 companies. The life span of the fund is ten years, with customary extension provisions.
