CZECH - Benson acquires BTV

The private equity purchaser intends to integrate BTV with two other Czech auto component companies in its existing investment portfolio, and has agreed to restructure and recapitalise the business.

The indebted national plastics manufacturer is based in Jablonec and Nisou. The company moulds a range of interior and exterior vehicle components including door handles, instrument panel parts, and mouldings for the steering wheel, gear lever, hand brake and seats, along with wheel hub caps, emblems and lighting parts.

In June 2007 Benson Oak acquired the Plastkov group, which includes Plastkov MR in Liberec and Hlinsko-based Plastkov Automotive, both suppliers of plastic automotive components. The 2007 aggregate turnover for all three companies is reported at EUR 72m with a workforce of 1,600.
