UK - Permira considering Travelodge IPO
Weekend press reports suggest that Permira has held talks with three financial advisors about a possible flotation of Travelodge.
It is understood that last week Permira held talks with Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and UBS. It is likely that an adviser will be appointed in the next two or three weeks.
A flotation or sale of Travelodge could be worth as much as £1bn.
Permira bought Travelodge in 2003 for £712m from Compass, the caterer. Two years later Permira raised £400m via a sale and leaseback of 136 of Travelodge's freehold properties.
