
SWEDEN - Candover appoints senior adviser for the Nordic region
Candover has appointed Fredrik Arp, former CEO of Volvo, as senior adviser with a particular focus on the Nordic region.
With his extensive experience in industrials, Arp will also advise on potential and existing investments in the European industrial sector. Prior to joining Volvo, Arp had held CEO positions with Trelleborg Industrier AB, PLM AB, and Boliden Kemi AB. He has worked with Candover since 2004 when he was appointed chairman of Thule, a branded goods company Candover sold to Nordic Capital in 2007, and later of current portfolio company Hilding Anders, a bed and mattress manufacturer.
Candover's other investments in the Nordic region include the oilfield services provider Vetco Aibel in Norway, which was sold to Herkules Capital (formerly FERD Private Equity) in 2007, and GET (previously UPC Norway), a cable operator that was sold to Quandrangle Capital and GS Capital Partners in 2007.
