NETHERLANDS - Buyout groups line up for $1bn sale of Exact software

According to reports, Exact Software, a company listed on Euronext Amsterdam, is being auctioned off for $1bn. It is understood that Candover, HgCapital, Hellman & Friedman and Providence Equity Partners have expressed interest in acquiring the company. Following this report, company shares rose 20%. Yesterday, the board confirmed that discussions are currently scheduled with a limited number of investment firms. However, there is no certainty that discussions with such firms will lead to a transaction involving all, or part of the company's outstanding shares.

Established in 1984, Exact Software is one of the world's largest providers of business software solutions. It has been listed on Eurolist by Euronext Amsterdam since June 1999. In 2006, the company reported a turnover of EUR 242.1m. Exact Software is headquarted in Delf, the Netherlands and has offices in Europe, the Middle East, America, Australia and Africa.
