SWEDEN - Accent Equity sells Wernersson Ost to Tine

Accent Equity has sold Wernersson Ost, a Swedish cheese supplier, together with its management to TINE, a Norwegian dairy producer for an undisclosed sum. Wernersson Ost was founded in 1930 and is Sweden's largest independent importer of specialty cheese. The company's turnover in 2006 amounted to about SEK 400m.

Accent Equity acquired 71% of the company in June 2004. Two years later, a refinancing was completed that returned around 70% of the investment costs to the investor. During Accent's ownership, a number of add-ons have been completed to broaden the product range. A tradesale is considered a natural step for the company to continue to become part of a Nordic constellation.
