GERMANY - DPE exits SSB Wind Systems
DPE Deutsche Private Equity has sold its shares in SSB Wind Systems to US-based Emerson Electric Co for an undisclosed amount.
Headquartered in Salzbergen, SSB is one of the pioneers of the fast growing market of regenerative energy. The company provides electrical pitch systems and switchgears. Its products, namely control systems and positioning drives, are core technologies in a wind turbine and ensure the highest wind turbine efficiency by optimising the blade position. The business was founded in 1995.
The acquisition by Emerson is expected to provide SSB with significant new growth opportunities. The entities SSB Service GmbH and SSB Duradrive GmbH are unaffected by the sale and will remain with DPE and management shareholders.
Close Brothers and Watson, Farley and Williams advised DPE on the transaction.
