
EUROPE - EVCA appoints new chairman
At the annual ordinary general assembly of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) last night, Javier Loizaga, CEO and Managing Partner of Mercapital, was officially elected as association chairman for the period June 2006 to June 2007. Javier Loizaga takes over from Sir David Cooksey, chairman of UK-based venture capital firm, Advent Venture Partners. He has served on the EVCA Executive Committee for many years and was most recently Chairman of EVCA’s Investor Relations Committee.
