SPAIN - Cinven in $675m deal for USP Hospitales
Cinven has acquired USP Hospitales, an independent healthcare operator, from Mercapital for $675m. USP operates 33 facilities, including 13 hospitals and 16 outpatient centres across Spain. USP is expected to generate revenues of $280.7m and EBITDA of $47m in 2007. This is Cinven's second investment in Spain following its €4.34bn deal for Amadeus in July 2005. The deal expands Cinven's presence in the European healthcare market following its acquisition of BUPA Hospitals in the UK last month for €2.13bn.
