GERMANY - capiton buys grocery logistics specialist

capiton has invested in the Steco Group as part of an expansion and replacement financing. Steco is a logistics services company, that operates a pool of reusable plastic crates for the grocery industry, mainly used for the transport of fruits and vegetables. In addition to Germany and Austria, Steco also has a strong presence in Southern Europe.

The buyout of the Steco Group follows capiton's acquisition of test and measurement solutions manufacturer GMC Gossen Metrawatt GmbH.

In recent years, Steco Group has grown revenues in excess of 30% p.a. In 2005 the company’s 300 employees generated revenues of almost EUR 50m.
