RUSSIA - A1 et al sell Vladpivo
Alfa Group's private equity arm A1, Detroit Investments and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have sold Russian brewer Vladpivo to SAB Miller for an undisclosed sum.
In mid 2005, A1 acquired the brewing industry of Prymorye and Vladpivo from Wimm-Bill-Dann and Sun Interbrew. In December 2005, the IFC provided a loan of EUR 7.5m and invested an additional USD 53 into the share capital of the company. At the beginning of 2006, at the request of A1, Detroit investments took up the daily management of the company.
Based near Vladivostok, Vladpivo is one of the largest independent breweries in Russia.
