UK - Octopus Ventures appoints investor director
Octopus Ventures, specialist investors in UK-based early-stage and expanding companies, has hired Jo Oliver as investor director.
Oliver will oversee the management and growth of the Octopus Investor Group, as well as be involved in potential investment opportunities while working closely with the portfolio management team. He will report to chief executive Alex Machpherson.
Prior to joining Octopus, Oliver founded COG Developments in 2007, a South Coast property company that uses sustainable materials to transform neglected buildings into luxury homes. He also founded Oliver Woodworth Ltd, a design and property development company, in 2005.
He previously held a career in equity research, having worked as an executive director for Lehman Brothers, responsible for overseeing the European mobile equity research team. He joined Lehman from Merrill Lynch, where he was a European mobile telecoms analyst.
