VC duo in charity bike jaunt
ABN AMRO Capital’s UK CEO Ian Taylor and Finance Director Roger Price have begun a two wheel odyssey to the glens of Taylor’s native Scotland this week, raising money for the charity Make a Wish.
Last night Price was robbed of one of his bicycling shoes, which had been left to air outside a bed& breakfast near the aptly named Cheddar Gorge. A fox is the prime suspect and today’sgruelling 100 mile leg to Ludlow has consequently been delayed by a shopping detour toBridgewater.
The journey will take the dynamic duo through some of the industrial heartlands of the country, where they will be keeping a vigilant eye open for interesting investment opportunities.“Following our entry into the caravan parks market last year with our purchase of GB HolidayParks and Park Resorts, we are now becoming experts on the inns of the United Kingdom,”panted a breathless Taylor by mobile from a Shropshire lay-by.
Scheduled to arrive on the Caithness coast on Wednesday 29 June, Taylor and Price’sadventures are recorded via a daily blog on a specially created websitewww.blokesonspokes.co.uk, where donations to Make a Wish can also be made.
Make a Wish was established in 1980 to grant the wishes of children with life threatening medicalconditions. It has since helped 127,000 children worldwide and has a network of 25,000volunteers.
