UK/NETHERLANDS - A&M hires nine
Turnaround management specialist Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has hired nine advisers for its European financial institutions advisory services team, eight of which will be based in London and one in Amsterdam.
Roger Page joins as director having most recently at ABN AMRO transaction banking working on developing and implementing the strategic agenda. Ajay Rawal will also become director and was previously head of retention and secured lending for HBOS.
Eimear Creaven, who joins as associate, has spent five years with Allied Irish Bank in New York and Dublin working in high yield and distressed credits and international corporate banking.
Hans Patyne, a new senior adviser at A&M, has previously worked for Banque Indosuez Paris (now Calyon), Dresdner Bank in London and Frankfurt and CDC Ixis London (now Natixis).
Naeem Bashir Ahmad will be managing partner in the European team. He was previously chief administrative officer of the transaction banking unit of ABN AMRO in Asia Pacific.
Bruce Matthews and Steve Franck both join as senior directors. Matthews has spent 15 years in financial services, most of it with Singer & Friendlander, where he held board and management roles across credit, risk, recoveries, IT & operations and restructuring. Franck has more than 12 years experience in capital markets and investment banking and has previously worked for Morgan Stanley.
Adrian Teng was head of transaction services products, greater China at ABN AMRO before joining A&M as director.
Aljosha van Dorssen will be managing director in Amsterdam. He has 25 years' financial services experience and worked in Asia for 10 years.
A&M is currently handling Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy and is also restructuring Washington Mutual's assets and liabilities.
