BELGIUM - Cognetas to sell Aliplast Group for €430m

Aliplast is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of aluminium profile systems for windows, doors and conservatories. Headquartered in Lokeren, Belgium, the group has hubs in France, the UK and Poland. Additionally, it has operating subsidiaries located in La Reunion and China.

Cognetas acquired Aliplast in early 2004 since when it supported the management team in moving the business from being a family run business to being a fully integrated international group. Aliplast has over 1000 employees, has generated total revenue of approximately EUR 180m in 2005 and is expected to report a growth of over 20% in 2006.

This is the second sale announced by Cognetas this week. On 18 December, it announced the sale of Azelis, the premier chemicals distribution agency, to 3i for EUR 315m.
