NL - Lion Capital acquires HEMA
Lion Capital has acquired Dutch retailer HEMA from Maxeda. The deal is subject to regulatory approval, expected before the end of July 2007.
Amsterdam-headquartered HEMA was founded as a department store chain in 1926. It recorded sales of EUR 1.3bn in 2006. HEMA employs approximately 10,000 staff.
