Duke Street hunts for new backers ahead of fresh fundraising
Duke Street Capital is looking for new backers to replace existing investors in its funds ahead of a fresh fundraising attempt, according to reports.
The GP is thought to be working with advisory firm Hawkpoint to identify buyers prepared to bid for its portfolio in secondary deals. Secondaries firm Coller Captial, Pantheon and US-based HarbourVest are reportedly interested in the assets.
Duke Street shelved plans to raise an €850m fund early last year, choosing instead to operate on a deal-by-deal basis. The firm had hit the fundraising road around a year earlier, never reaching the €250m first close expected in December 2011.
At the time of the announcement to curb the previous fundraising effort, managing partner Peter Taylor suggested that the firm's next vehicle would likely follow a mixed model.
Duke Street could not be reached for comment at this time.
