GERMANY - AFINUM acquires Erpo International
AFINUM Management GmbH has acquired upholstery furniture producer Erpo International from its previous owner Thomas Jungjohann for an undisclosed amount.
Erpo International is a manufacturer of upholstery furniture, particularly premium leather sofas and seaters. The products are marketed under the label "Erpo" and distributed through furniture retailers and upholstery specialists. Headquartered in Donzdorf, the company runs its production site in Ertingen. Erpo has 147 employees and realised sales of approximately EUR 20m in 2008.
AFINUM is looking to achieve further growth of the company by increasing its market share in existing domestic markets and enlarging its international presence, mainly in Western Europe and Asia. This is AFINUM's second investment in upholstery furniture after its investment and subsequent exit from Machalke in 2005.
