SPAIN - ValCapital acquires La Mediterránea

The investment, which was drawn out from the investor's Capital Restructuración fund, sees ValCapital take ownership of the production facilities and the brand. A new manager has been appointed who will hold a 30% stake in the business.

Headquartered in L'Olleria, Valencia, La Mediterránea was established in 1975 and functioned as a cooperative, specialising in the manufacture of glassware from recycled glass and porcelain. The investors have hired José Luis Pérez Herrero - formerly director general at Lladró Porcelana, as managing director.

The investors plan to relaunch the well-known brand which has continued to sell stocked products throughout these past two years.
