SPAIN - ValCapital acquires La Mediterránea
ValCapital has acquired glassware manufacturer La Mediterránea, which had been forced into administration two years ago after struggling with a EUR 9m debt pile.
Headquartered in L'Olleria, Valencia, La Mediterránea was established in 1975 and functioned as a cooperative, specialising in the manufacture of glassware from recycled glass and porcelain. The investors have hired José Luis Pérez Herrero - formerly director general at Lladró Porcelana, as managing director.
The investors plan to relaunch the well-known brand which has continued to sell stocked products throughout these past two years.
