UK- Blackstone-backed Deutsche Telecom may sell UK operations

Deutsche Telecom is expected to report writedowns of EUR1.8bn for its UK business next week.

T-Mobile is just the fourth-largest competitor in its market against rivals 3, O2, Orange and Vodafone.

The highly competitive market, the decline in profits in Britain and the US and the strong Euro have all been cited as reasons for the company's financial problems.
