Balderton raises $375m for sixth fund
Balderton Capital has closed its sixth venture fund on $375m, focusing on series-A investments for technology companies.
The total raised is significantly higher than the $305m raised for its predecessor vehicle, but below the $430m raised for Balderton's fourth fund, which held a final close in 2009.
The latest fundraising brings the total amount raised by the VC firm to $2.6bn.
Investors
Balderton VI raised commitments from new and existing investors across Europe, the US and Asia. The VC's previous fund raised commitments from LPs including the European Investment Fund and Finnish Industry Investment.
Investments
The new vehicle will invest in series-A rounds for European technology companies across various verticals.
Recent investments by Balderton include a $10m series-A for Swedish online marketing platform Funnel, a $2.5m seed round for Swedish AI business Furhat Robotics, a $30m series-D for Swiss biotechnology company Sophia Genetics and a $10m series-A for Danish virtual laboratory simulations provider Labster.
