Commonfund Capital has held a final close for Commonfund Venture Partners XIII (CVP XIII) on its $625m hard-cap.
The vehicle is larger than its predecessor, which closed on $432m in October 2018.
Commonfund is a private capital manager specialised in private equity, venture capital, secondaries, co-investments and real estate, with offices in Wilton, Connecticut, San Francisco, California, Beijing, China and London, UK.
Since its inception in 1988, the firm has managed $18bn in private capital commitments from institutional investors.
Investors
The fund built an LP base composed of existing and new investors, including foundations, endowments, pension funds, family offices and healthcare organisations.
Investments
CVP XIII plans to deploy the majority of its capital in established early-stage global venture capital funds, selecting managers with verifiable track records in the technology industry.
It will also invest a minority of its capital in mid-stage, high growth companies operating across the information technology, consumer and healthcare sectors.
In addition, the fund will opportunistically invest in secondary purchases of funds and companies.
