HarbourVest closes ninth fund-of-funds on USD 1.6bn
US-private equity firm HarbourVest has closed its ninth Europe and Asia fund-of-funds at USD 1.6bn, above the target size of USD 1.25bn.
HarbourVest said that the fund, HarbourVest International Private Equity Partners IX (HIPEP IX), provides investors access to private equity managers and investments in Europe and the Asia Pacific.
The fund will also allow secondary transactions and direct co-investments.
It was supported by global limited partners from four continents, including public and private pension funds, and endowments.
The vehicle is a slight downsize on its predecessor, HIPEP VIII, which closed in March 2018 on USD 1.7bn.
HIPEP VIII was 97% deployed as of June 2020, according to Unquote Data. It was 50% invested across Europe, 35% in Asia and 15% in the rest of the world.
