William Blair poaches peers in European advisory boost
Financial advisory firm William Blair is bolstering its financial advisory shop in Europe with five senior hires across technology, services, industrials and debt advisory.
Eric Sanschagrin and Daniel Fiegenschuh have joined as managing director and director, respectively, in the technology group, according to a statement. They join from EY's EMEIA strategy and transactions unit, where Sanschagrin was a partner and technology sector leader and Fiegenschuh an associate partner.

Additionally, Manuel Sammut has been appointed managing director covering tech-enabled services, while Alex Murrill has been hired as managing director covering specialty distribution, commercial services and industrials.

Sammut was most recently a partner at KPMG, where he built out the business and tech-enabled services M&A practice. Murrill joins from Baird, where he was previously a director in the global industrial investment banking group.

Finally, Shane Dulabdas joins as a director in the firm's debt advisory group. He was previously a director for Houlihan Lokey (formerly GCA Altium), where he served on the debt advisory team.
The five appointments come as the firm's investment banking group grew strongly, with 2021 a record-breaking year after advising companies worth more than USD 290bn globally, executing more than 485 advisory and capital markets transactions, according to the statement. The boutique has advised more than 90 clients since the start of the year.
William Blair's European investment banking is headed by Anu Sharma, who has been in the group since 2004.
