LGT closes third co-investment fund on USD 2bn
LGT Capital has closed its third co-investment fund at USD 2bn, around USD 500m above target.
Crown Co-investment Opportunities III is a USD 700m upsize on its predecessor, which closed in January 2019.
LGT, an alternative investments manager, said that the fund will continue the strategy of the earlier funds by building a diversified portfolio of co-investments alongside the managers in its network.
Geographically, the fund will mostly focus on North America and Europe but will remain opportunistic in Asia.
Crown Co-investment Opportunities II stopped investing in January 2022. Nearly all of the fund's co-investments have been buyout with 4% in special situations, according to a report by the firm.
Fund II invested 38% in North America, 30% in DACH, 18% in the UK & Ireland, 11% in China and Japan, and 3% in France, said the report.
