
Waterland’s Didix bolts on two dining clubs
Didix, a Dutch provider of gift cards backed by Waterland Private Equity, has acquired dining clubs The Gourmet Society and The Restaurant Choice.
Didix provides gift cards including cinema and restaurant vouchers. The firm is located in Amsterdam and has around 21 employees. The Restaurant Choice is a restaurant voucher retailer founded by Simon Leonard, who also founded The Gourmet Society.
ABN AMRO provided funding to support the acquisitions.
Waterland acquired Netherlands-based Didix in September 2013. The GP made an equity injection designed to support the organic and acquisitive growth of the company across Europe.

The Gourmet Society is a subscription-based dining club in the UK with more than 500,000 members and 7,000 affiliated restaurants. Restaurant Choice is a restaurant gift voucher scheme that is accepted at more than 1,500 restaurants in Britain including Nandos and Pizza Express.
