Emerald reaches first close for third fund
Switzerland-based Emerald Technology Ventures has held a first close for its third venture fund.
The firm is aiming for a €100m final close. New investors include trade players ABB, Clariant and Sulzer, as well as family offices. Existing investors also took part in the closing.
Operating offices in Zurich and Toronto, Canada, Emerald manages three venture capital funds and two venture capital portfolio mandates totaling more than €300m.
Investments
The fund will target early-stage and expansion investments in the energy, water and materials sectors.
People
Emerald's 11-strong team is headed by managing partner Gina Domanig.
