Ogier appoints Bermingham in Luxembourg
Law firm Ogier has hired James Bermingham as a counsel to its Luxembourg-based team.
Bermingham joined Ogier's team in Luxembourg as a counsel from asset management firm TH Real Estate, where he worked as a general counsel. Prior to that, Bermingham worked as director and general counsel at private equity fund manager Axtec Group for 10 years. He was also a member of the legal and technical committee of Invest Europe.
Bermingham started his career at Norton Rose Fulbright, where he worked as senior associate for four years prior to joining Mourant Ozannes – formerly known as Mourant du Feu & Jeune – as a senior lawyer in 2005. He worked for the Jersey-based law firm for 17 months.
In his career to date, Bermingham has focused on structuring, formation, regulation, operation and tax issues related to both regulated and unregulated alternative investment vehicles. He has a particular focus on cross-border commercial, regulatory and tax issues.
