
Luxembourg sees birth of industry body
Luxembourg has long been attractive to private equity and venture capital funds and has finally seen the birth of its own industry association.
The Luxembourg Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LPEA). More than 300 hundred PE/VC funds have been incorporated as SICARs and SIFs over the past five years while several thousands of Luxembourg non-regulated vehicles are used by private equity houses to structure their European acquisitions.
The association is headed by Hans-Jürgen Schmitz managing partner of Mangrove Capital Partners, sit in as president, while Alain Kinsch country managing partner at Ernst & Young and Emanuela Brero director at CVC Capital Partners both sit in as vice-presidents.
