
Insight invests €20m in Bynder
US venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners has provided €20m of series-A funding to Netherlands-based Bynder, a cloud-based content management system for marketing firms.
The fresh capital, which will be used entirely for growth purposes, will enable Bynder to expand internationally and invest in product development. The business will look to implement this strategy by making a number of recruitments in its research and development teams, as well as within its sales and marketing divisions.
Bynder recently opened an office in Dubai to anchor its growth plans in the APAC region. Its founder and CEO Chris Hall told unquote" the company was targeting a global presence in the long term, though it had no plans to open new offices within the next few quarters.
Upon completion of the investment, Insight managing director Jeff Horing will take a seat on the Bynder board.
The transaction marks Insight's second investment in the Benelux region in 2016. In May it led a $50m series-C round for Ghent-based content activation platform company Showpad.

Founded in 2013, Amsterdam-headquartered Bynder is a cloud-based content management system for marketing firms. The platform includes in-built tools including video and graphics editing capabilities.
Bynder has a headcount of of 200 and serves 350 business customers including KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Logitech and AkzoNobel. It generates recurring revenues of more than €10m and currently operates from offices in the Netherlands, the UK, the US, Spain and UAE.
