Waterland invests in Enhesa
Waterland has provided growth capital to Enhesa, a Brussels-based IT platform specialising in environmental, health and safety (EHS) services.
It is the first time that Enhesa has opened its share capital to a private equity backer. The GP stated it would help the group accelerate its international growth strategy, supporting CEO Peter Hermans and the management team with their roll-out plan.
unquote" sister publication Mergermarket put Waterland's stake in the group at between 10-29%.
A company statement read: "The former shareholders will pursue other opportunities outside the EHS industry.”
In 2015, Enhesa had announced a partnership with Chicago-based company VelocityEHS, which offers a cloud-based EHS management platform.
Waterland’s most recently closed fund is Waterland Private Equity Fund VI (WPEF VI), closed on €1.55bn in April 2015. The fund looks to take majority stakes in mid-sized companies, largely applying buy-and-build growth strategies. It targets western and central Europe, particularly the Benelux and DACH regions, as well as opportunities in Poland.
Recent investments by Waterland include the acquisition of a stake in Dutch energy supplier Scholt Energy Control, and in German financial software business Hanse Orga.
The firm also recently announced it has opened its first UK office in Manchester, aiming to capitalise on Brexit and targeting mid-market buy-and-build opportunities in the UK.
Waterland was not available for comment at the time of writing.
