Insight in additional series-C round for Showpad
Insight Venture Partners has injected an additional $25m as part of a series-C round for Belgian business-software developer Showpad.
In May 2016, Showpad secured $50m in a series-C round of funding led by Insight Venture Partners, with previous investors Dawn Capital and Hummingbird Ventures also taking part.
The initial series-C backing allowed the launch of its North American headquarters in Chicago in 2017, as well as management team hires.
The additional funding will be used for investment in new markets, the expansion of Showpad's global strategy, and continued product development.
Previous funding
In March 2013, Hummingbird acquired a minority stake in Showpad for €1.5m. The company intended to use the capital to expand its sales and marketing efforts and open an office in New York.
In 2014, Dawn led an $8.5m series-B funding round with participation from existing backer Hummingbird. Showpad then looked to hire an additional 25 employees for its two offices in Belgium and the US, and to exceed $10m in revenues by 2015.
Company
Founded in 2011, Showpad is a content activation platform for marketeers, aiming to improve sales engagement.
With headquarters in Ghent and Chicago, and offices in San Francisco, Portland and London, Showpad has a client base of around 1,000 companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Fujifilm, Audi, BASF, Dow Chemical and Kimberly-Clark.
