Newion backs startup PlayPass
Newion and existing business angels have injected €1.9m into PlayPass, a Belgium-based provider of technology services for events.
The startup has raised €7.9m to date via seed funding and two series-A rounds in 2015 and 2017.
Newion is currently investing from its Newion III vehicle, launched in July 2017 and currently still on the fundraising trail. With a target size of €85m, the fund was first used to contribute to a €1.1m round for Netherlands-based logistics tech startup Synple, based in Breda.
PlayPass intends to use the funds to expand internationally.
Company
Founded in 2012, PlayPass offers a wristband that enables event organisers to manage crew, artists and crowds.
