Benchmark invests $20m in Sketch
US-based VC Benchmark Capital has invested $20m in a series-A funding round for design software provider Sketch.
Benchmark has previously invested in Twitter, Instagram and eBay, and was most recently involved in a $33.5m series-D funding round for Germany-based software provider Contentful. Benchmark's investments in Europe mainly span Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK.
The fresh capital will be used to develop Sketch's software and potentially expand into software for enterprises.
This is the company's first round of funding. Founders Emanuel Sá and Pieter Omvlee claim Sketch has been profitable since the inception of the company, and that it has grown exclusively organically.
Company
Founded in 2008 and based in The Hague, Sketch employs 43 people. Sketch has more than one million subscribers for their design software.
