
VCs invest $18m in Icometrix
Forestay Capital, Optum Ventures and Capricorn Venture have invested $18m in healthcare software company Icometrix.
Capricorn Venture is currently investing from its Capricorn ICT Fund, which closed on €33.2m in 2014.
Forestay is part of Waypoint Capital, which owns imaging centre network Affidea. Icometrix and Affidea have already engaged in a partnership.
Partner Katrin Geyskens of Capricorn holds a seat on Icometrix's board.
Previous funding
In 2016, Capricorn, along with other private investors, provided a €2m round of funding for the company.
Company
Icometrix is a Leuven-based company that develops software for the analysis of brain scans. The company's Icobrain software extracts information from MRI and CT scans of brains with neurological disorders. The company claims its software is used in more than 100 hospitals. It employs approximately 50 people and was founded in 2011.
