EQT Ventures, Naspers et al. invest €30m in Dott
Existing investors EQT Ventures and Naspers Ventures have taken part in a €30m series-A round for Netherlands-based Dott, an electric scooter and bike manufacturer and rental operator.
The investment is co-led by existing investors EQT Ventures and Naspers, a consumer internet group investing via its Naspers Ventures division.
EQT Ventures is currently investing via its €566m EQT Venture Fund, which closed in 2016.
Other backers include existing investors Axel Springer Digital Ventures, Felix Capital, FJ Labs, U-Start Club and angel investors.
The fresh capital will help the startup launch a custom-designed e-bike by the end of the year and continue to develop its e-scooter technology. The business also plans to expand its presence in select cities in Germany, the UK and the Netherlands.
Dott raised an initial investment of €20m in December 2018, co-led by EQT Ventures and Naspers with participation from other investors and business angels in Europe.
